The climax of the Stanbic Uganda Cup game between Onduparaka and SC Villa was marred by the ugly scenes of violence after fans attacked center referee Rajab Bakasambe.
The game was played at the Greenlight Stadium in Arua and ended 1-0 in favor of Villa who were the visiting team on the day.
Benson Muhindo scored the all decisive goal in the 10th minute and sent SC Villa to the quarter finals.
At full-time, the fans stormed the pitch and beat up referee Bakasambe for no valid reason.
The violent fans attributed their exit from the Stanbic Uganda Cup to the match official despite having no controversial decision made throughout the game.
He was later rescued from the violent fans but receiving serious brawls and kicks.
Onduparaka has not yet released a statement addressing about the incident.
This is the second time this season Onduparaka fans have launched violent attacks on match officials.
The first one was during the controversial 2-2 draw with KCCA with FIFA badge referee Ronald Madanda at fault for awarding a contentious penalty among other wrong decisions on the day.
