Legendary musician Mesarch Semakula has quit Golden Band due to health reasons.

In 2014, Semakula alongside Ronald Mayinja, Catherine Kusasira, Grace Ssekamate, Maureen Nantume, Fred Seruga,Doreen Mutiibwa and Michael Kinene decided to form Golden Band following the split of Eagles Productions.

After the split, Geoffrey Lutaaya and his wife Irene Namatovu formed Da Nu Eagles in the same year.

Semakula has been one of the directors of the band with Kusasira and Mayinja as the other directors. Musa Kavuma is the manager of the band.

Semakula cited health as the major reason why he decided to part ways with the band in a letter from his lawyers of Lukwago advocates.

Last month, Kusasira and Mayinja decided to bring the band back on the music scene by recruiting new artists. They held auditions at Auto Spa but Semakula was not in attendance.

Semakula joins Hillary Kiyaga alias Hilderman, Carol Nantongo, Doreen Mutiibwa, Michael Kinene, Grace Ssekamate and Maureen Nantume who earlier left the band.
