King Saha, a musician, has recently expressed strong criticism of the government and its agencies.
Since then, he has declared that he is qualified to succeed him as governor of the Bank of Uganda, a position that will open up soon.
On Monday night, he announced on TikTok live that he would run for governor.
“This position of governor of the Bank of Uganda has been vacant for so long, and I am declaring myself the governor right now. I will be signing all your money starting today,” he said.
Note that the President has the authority to name the governor of the Bank of Uganda, subject to approval by Parliament.
