At the time Kenzo joined the Kamwokya-based company, Buchaman served as Bobi Wine’s vice president in the Firebase Crew.
Because he participated in many group activities, Buchaman’s opinion on Firebase is always valued.
Buchaman has responded to Kenzo’s accusations that Bobi Wine stole parts of his songs, stating that the NUP President never stole his tunes.
He argued that his wife Barbie, with all of their joint accomplishments and good deeds, was the inspiration behind Bobi Wine’s song “Promise”.
“He never copied Kenzo’s songs because, for ‘Promise,’ he first did a reggae version, and when people didn’t embrace it much, he switched to a slow version. He didn’t get ideas from Kenzo’s songs. ‘Promise’ is an inspiration from Barbie, and that song was dedicated to her because of the sacrifices she made for him,” he partly said in an interview.
