Concerts featuring many acts are now frequently scheduled for the same day in Uganda. Spice Diana, though, thinks that this is bad for the business.
Spice clarified that concert promoters only make money when they arrange events in Kampala on the same day as their audience, citing the similarity of Ugandan music enthusiasts in an interview with a local YouTuber.
Rather of flocking to a single event on a specific day, she claims that fans feel compelled to split apart, with fewer people attending each concert.
“It’s a new culture coming up, but it doesn’t make sense. Some people believe it benefits them, but it can’t be that way. Because we have the same fans, organizing shows on the same day divides them, and in the end, the organizers don’t benefit,” she partly said.
