You merely needed to be there! What an unbelievable day it was on Saturday, June seventh, when our very personal Sierra Queens – the champions of the 2025 WAFU A Girls’s Match – got here house to Freetown!

The nationwide satisfaction was completely off the charts, overflowing with pure pleasure!They actually obtained a hero’s welcome proper from the Guinea-Sierra Leone border! Our SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima was there to guide the greeting, together with Vice Presidents Harold Nat-Johnson and Ali Badara Tarawallie, and even our Minister of Sports activities, Madam Augusta James-Teima! And the followers? Oh my goodness, hundreds of us lined your entire route from the border all the best way to Freetown! It was a parade of nationwide colours, songs, and cheers that you just’ll always remember. We escorted them each step of the best way till the convoy lastly reached the magnificent Siaka Stevens Stadium for a grand, grand welcome ceremony.

The power contained in the stadium was electrical, thanks partially to the Sierra Leone Nationwide Sports activities Supporters Union dance troupe – they set the proper tone! And all the large media homes – AYV, SLBC, Radio Democracy, Rise Radio, plus all our favourite bloggers like Born To Weblog – had been there to ensure everybody noticed this historic second.

Much more prime authorities and sports activities officers joined the group on the stadium, together with Deputy Minister Kai Laurence Bayo and Govt Director Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai. Their speeches had been so passionate, filled with thanks and admiration for our Queens. And the most effective half? Our unbelievable goalkeeper, Hannah Juna, was an absolute celebrity, bagging three of these, plus the Greatest Goalkeeper and Greatest Participant awards for the entire match! And Salamatu Kamara bought one within the ultimate – superb!

The Chief of Delegation, Madam Haja Ramatulai Kamara, spoke so superbly, thanking all of the gamers and Coach Hassan Malik Mansaray for his or her “championship mindset” and “excessive degree of professionalism.” She’s completely proper – they earned this!Because the celebrations proceed, this victory isn’t nearly soccer; it’s an enormous beacon of hope and inspiration for each woman and girl in Sierra Leone.
