Defence chiefs from across the Asia Pacific are in Singapore to debate safety challenges dealing with the area.

The three-day summit, referred to as the Shangri-La Dialogue, attracts high-level ministers, navy heads and international safety analysts.

The main focus will likely be on overseas coverage, with delicate diplomatic talks going down behind closed doorways.

However relations are already frosty between the world’s two superpowers – China and america. Beijing has warned Washington in opposition to interfering in its affairs after their defence ministers met to debate Taiwan.

Whereas that relationship sees no signal of thawing, others are looking for frequent floor.

So, which alliances may be strengthened and will new ones be established?

And the way is all this affecting the steadiness of energy across the globe?
