Diamond Platnumz cements his place as Africa’s leading singer on YouTube

Diamond Platnumz has grown more and more to ensure his position in the African music industry.

The artist who is currently making waves in continental Europe with his ‘Komasava’ hit has set another record of being the first person under the Sahara desert to reach 9 million followers on YouTube.

Diamond reached that number of 9 million last weekend and was celebrated by the WCB Wasafi label he owns.

In the sub-Saharan region, Diamond leads with 9 million followers while he is followed by Rayvanny with 5.11 million followers, Burna Boy from Nigeria is third with 4.85 million followers, Harmonize with 4.56 million, while Fally Ipupa from the Democratic Republic of Congo rounding out the top five with 4.24 million followers.

Other notable figures are Nigerians Rema, Davido, and Ckay, who have 4.18 million, 4.02, and 4.02 million followers, respectively. Grammy Award winner Tyla from South Africa is ranked ninth with 3.9 million followers, while Nigerian Mr. Flavor completes the top ten with 3.36 million followers.

With nine million followers, Diamond tops the Tanzanian list. Rayvanny and Harmonize are next, then Zuchu with three million, Mbosso with two million, Alikiba with one million, Lavalava with one million, Nandy with one million, Marioo with one million, Rose Muhando making the top ten and being the only gospel artist with one million.
