The Uganda Musicians Association will elect it’s new leadership on Monday, 11th April.
Musicians who associate with UMA across the country will elect their new leaders via online.
Earlier this month, incumbent President Cinderella Sanyu (Cindy) revealed that the association will not conduct physical polls due to lack of funds
“It takes too much money to organise physical elections. Many people think online voting is not the best option, but it’s all we have at a moment. But if we get funds from well wishers and other organs, we shall consider making them physical.” Said Cindy
Cindy was elected UMA President in March last year after Ykee Benda had resigned from the position. Benda had replaced Sophia Gombya who had resigned to pursue her political ambition.
Cindy will battle Maurice Kirya and Mansoor Ssemanda alias King Saha who have been endorsed by majority of musicians
