Russell Martin says the assist he has had from Sir Alex Ferguson since taking on as Rangers head coach has been “unimaginable”.

The previous Manchester United supervisor paid his first go to to the membership’s Auchenhowie coaching centre on Friday, within the firm of Rangers nice John Greig.

Ferguson, 83, performed for 2 seasons at Rangers from 1967-69, whereas Greig, 82, spent his whole profession at Ibrox earlier than a five-year spell as supervisor.

“Any group speak or message I give is completed when these two discuss this membership and what it means to them,” Martin informed RangersTV.

“They’re each actually behind us and what we’re doing. They’re determined for this group to do properly.

Martin performed below Sir Alex’s son Darren Ferguson at Peterborough United who made him captain when he was simply 21.

“I mentioned ‘after all’ and since then Sir Alex has been in powerful often. He is been nice. He is been so supportive of me personally, which is unimaginable.

“It is the primary time he is been right here and it was simply sensible for everybody to see him.”
