Former Uganda Cranes captain Emmanuel Arnold Okwi has on Tuesday, 4th August confirmed his retirement from skilled Soccer.

Okwi who had retired from worldwide soccer in March final 12 months, has now dangle up his boots from soccer solely and thanked his teammates and coaches whom he served with throughout his time on the pitch.

“After many unforgettable years on the pitch, the time has come for me to say goodbye to skilled soccer. This has been one of many hardest choices of my life as a result of soccer has been greater than only a profession. At membership stage, Okwi has featured for SC Villa, Simba SC (Tanzania), Younger Africans (Tanzania), SønderjyskE(Denmark), Étoile du Sahel(Tunisia), Al Ittihad (Egypt) and Rwanda’s Kiyovu.

He made his senior nationwide crew debut in 2009 and retired after making 95 appearances within the Uganda Cranes jersey, scoring 28 objectives.

The ahead featured on the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations that was held in Egypt the place he scored two objectives towards DR Congo and Zimbabwe.

In 2021,he was named Cranes captain following Denis Onyango’s retirement. His final appearence within the Cranes colors got here within the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
