Preparations for this year’s Amaato ga Kabaka Royal Regatta are in top gear, with organizers assuring revelers of tight security, smooth logistics, and a packed day of fun on the water.
Yesterday, members of the Buganda Kingdom led by the head of the Kabaka’s Protection Unit, protocol officials, and other dignitaries joined the Buganda Royal Regatta team for meetings and a full patrol of the event area to make final checks.
According to organizers, all systems are in place to ensure a safe and memorable experience.
Security has been beefed up, entry points will be well-organized, and revelers are promised affordable meals and plenty of drinks throughout the day.
The team also confirmed that prizes for the popular treasure hunt have been secured. This year’s lucky winners stand a chance to walk away with boda bodas and smartphones.
The Amaato ga Kabaka is Buganda Kingdom’s annual royal regatta that celebrates culture, unity, and talent through boat races, music, and community engagement on the lake.
The event draws thousands from across Buganda and beyond, and this year’s edition is expected to be one of the biggest yet.
With preparations complete, organizers are now calling on the public to turn up in big numbers with the first individuals to attend the event standing a chance to win big prizes.
It should be remembered that the preliminary round of the competition was held at Nakiwogo beach in Entebbe.
Meanwhile, the winners of the boat competition will also walk away with prizes such as winnrrs trophies and cash prizes. Batenga Nakisozi from Uganda Rowing who is the head coach of Uganda Rowing teams will oversee technical affairs.
